Melody Orban is a WSN Key Leader and former board member for the Wisconsin Science Network. She served the elected position of District XII (Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa) for the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA). She was on the planning committee for the July 2004. National Congress of Science Education (NCSE). She has been board member, newsletter editor, and president of Wisconsin Elementary/Middle Level Science Teachers (WEST). She received their Distinguished Leadership in Science Award in 2004. As a member of Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers (WSST) she has served on the convention planning committee and the professional development committee. She is a WASDI III. She has presented at state level conferences and summer academies. Melody is a member of the Committee for Learning at the Museum (CLAM) for the Kenosha Public Museum. Her position in Kenosha Unified School District has included being an elementary science resource teacher supporting the science kit adoption in 5 schools. She is a kit trainer for FOSS. She has been a teacher for 25 years.
