Mark Klawiter

Mark Klawiter is a WSN Key Leader and a WASDI Lead Teacher. Mark taught physical sciences at Ladysmith prior to recently moving to Deerfield High School. He has been professionally active as a presenter at WASDI academies, WSST, and national organizations such as NSTA. He WASDI Lead Teacher and is a member of WSST, NSTSA, American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), Association for Curriculum Development (ASCD), and the National Association for Research in Science teaching (NARST).

Mark is a National Board Certified Teacher and has received many awards at the state and national level, such as the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and the National Tandy Technology Outstanding Educator Award.

He was has served on many committees at the Department of Public Instruction including assisting in the development of the Planning Curriculum in Science.

Mark has exhibited leadership in science education through his work at the Lawrence Hall of Science, and, most notably, as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the National Science Foundation. He has developed materials for Science Kit, Inc., reviewed manuscripts for The Science Teacher, evaluated software for the Lederman Science Center, and contributed items for ACT testing.
