BioNet

BioNet is a dues-free, statewide sharing network that links K-12 educators interested in biology throughout Wisconsin with each other and with biology education resources. BioNet's activities are clustered into twelve geographic regions, each coordinated by a team of teachers who serve as regional directors. www.wisc.edu/cbe/bionet

National Science Teachers Association (NSTA)

The National Science Teachers Association, founded in 1944, is the world's largest professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. NSTA's 55,000 plus members include science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business and industry representatives and others involved in science education. www.nsta.org

Sally Ride Academy

The Sally Ride Academy is a non-profit organization that offers quality K-16 professional development both on content standards and teaching standards. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. (DPI)

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction provides a multitude of science education related services through the science consultant as well as other consultants. The DPI website (www.dpi.state.wi.us) provides detailed information on administrative rules, licensing, grant information, statistics and reports, WINNS, an educators. page plus many other services.

Wisconsin Educational Partnership Initiative

The Wisconsin Educational Partnership Initiative (WEPI) is a non-profit organization that conducts programs, provides consulting and evaluation services, and facilitation services for other programs. A major program of WEPI is The Wisconsin Academy Staff Development Initiative (WASDI). WASDI provides state of the art staff development for teachers throughout Wisconsin, in the areas of mathematics, science, and technology education. The project has concentrated on the development of leadership in the teaching community and on providing geographically close, high quality professional development for Wisconsin teachers. Wisconsin Elementary and Middle Level Science Teachers

The Wisconsin Elementary and Middle Level Science Teachers was established in 1988 to support the professional development of educators, enhance the science education of preschool through middle-level children, and to promote public understanding and appreciation of science education in all Wisconsin schools. Wisconsin Science Education Leadership Association (WSELA)

WSELA is a sharing and networking organization for Wisconsin.s science education leaders. Members meet twice annually to share information, updates, and ideas on a variety of science topics including: curricula, educational policy, research and professional development. WSELA's mission is to advance principles and practices of effective science education leadership in Wisconsin; build a community of science education leaders; and influence science education policies and practices.

Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers

The Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers (WSST) was founded in 1958 to promote, support and improve science education in the state of Wisconsin by providing leadership, advocacy, and programs to enhance the teaching and learning of science. With a membership of almost 2,000, it is the largest Wisconsin organization of individuals interested in the advancement of science education. More information can be found at www.wsst.org
