Al Hovey currently serves Learning Point Associates as a Sr. Program Associate in mathematics, science, technology, curriculum, and professional development. Prior to joining NCEMSC he spent over 36 years in the Wisconsin educational system having taught Middle School in Shawano, served as Wisconsin State Science Education Consultant, and was middle school science teacher and area science chair for Wauwatosa. Mr. Hovey continues to be involved in science at the local, state and national levels. He served as President of the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers. Among the numerous awards received is the WSST Ron Gibbs Award. Mr. Hovey holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Lakeland College. He holds a master's degree in science from Northern Arizona University.
