About the Wisconsin Science Network

The Wisconsin Science Network is a coalition of education associations, agencies, and businesses that facilitate a statewide effort in support of science education. The program links teachers in public and private K-16 schools throughout Wisconsin to provide an information network. The participants serve as Points of Contact to distribute information to their colleagues as well as provide data and feedback about the impact of Wisconsin and national directions in science education.

Integral to the program are Key Leaders, selected for their leadership and experience, to assist in identifying Points of Contact and leading area sharing networks. The area networks, part of the state web based messaging system, allows sharing of information and expertise. Key leaders participate in an annual conference to increase their knowledge, strategies and skills in standards based science education, leadership development, and electronic information sharing.

The Wisconsin Science Network is part of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Building a Presence for Science Program.
